Volunteers

Catholic Charities Spokane relies on more than 6,000 volunteers each year who give of their hearts and hands to provide help and create hope for over 77,000 people served by our 11 programs in 50 Eastern Washington locations.  There are over 60 different volunteer opportunities available.  All Catholic Charities Spokane volunteers must complete our electronic application and pass a background check before placement.

At Catholic Charities we also welcome student and underage volunteers. Our Underage Policy states that if volunteers are 16 or 17 years old they are required to turn in a signed parent permission form. Please click on the link at the end of this paragraph to access the parent permission form. Volunteers 15 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who has submitted a volunteer application. Parental Permission Form

Volunteer Alda Morris

"I wanted to do something to inspire other people who were disabled, to let them know they can do something with their lives that has meaning," says Alda Morris.  Alda has genetic neurological impairments, but that doesn't stop her from knitting 5 beautiful sweaters a month for children of the Childbirth and Parenting Assistance (CAPA) Program.  She says, "It makes the parents happy and makes the children happy."  It clearly makes Alda happy as well.
